On the afternoon of August 21, Guizhou University held its 2025 Fall Semester Work Meeting. The meeting was attended by the university's leadership team, department-level officials, members of the high-quality development oversight team, academicians, national-level talents, senior experts, as well as representatives from democratic parties, united front organizations, faculty, and students.

Yang Wei, Party Secretary of the university, and Academician Song Baoan, President of the university, each delivered reports and speeches. Yang Wei focused on the university’s development, while Song Baoan spoke about strengthening work ethics, promoting a positive academic atmosphere, and making new contributions to showcase Guizhou's evolving image.

Vice Presidents Zhang Dalin, Chen Xiangsheng, and Wang Jinrong also presented reports on the key tasks for 2025, progress on the “Top Ten” initiatives, and plans for research, talent development, undergraduate education, discipline construction, and internationalization.

The meeting stressed the importance of all faculty, staff, and students aligning with the Central Party's Eight Regulations. The focus should be on practical actions rather than formalism. The new semester should be a time to act, be precise, and drive tangible results. The university will strengthen its evaluation system, promote a strong academic atmosphere, and prepare for the Fifth Party Congress through concrete achievements.

The meeting also highlighted the need to embrace a spirit of innovation, determination, and hard work. Three core areas of focus were emphasized:

  1. Party Leadership and Achieving Milestones: Strengthening the implementation of the Central Party's Eight Regulations, enhancing ideological training for Party members, and integrating Party building with university development. Practical actions should drive high-quality progress.

  2. Unity and Development: Clarifying the "three major attributes of education," understanding the "six key features of an education power," and aligning with the "eight systems" that guide the university’s growth. This will help chart a clear direction for the future.

  3. Confidence and Action: Staying focused on completing tasks with determination and using reforms to boost vitality and sustainable development. A strong Party, teaching, and academic atmosphere will help the university achieve its 2025 goals.

The meeting concluded with a call for everyone to focus on problem-solving, setting clear goals, and delivering measurable results. The university aims to actively contribute to the future of education, support China’s modernization, and continue to write the “Guizhou University story” as part of building a strong educational nation.
