PRAI 2025 Kicks Off at Guizhou University, Highlighting Frontiers in AI and Industry Applications

On August 16 in Guiyang, the 8th IEEE International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence (PRAI 2025) opened at Guizhou University, bringing together nearly 100 experts and scholars from leading universities and research institutes worldwide.

Co-hosted by Guizhou University and IEEE, and organized by GZU’s School of Big Data and Information Engineering, the conference aims to foster academic collaboration and accelerate innovation in pattern recognition and AI technologies such as generative AI, multimodal learning, edge computing, and model interpretability.

Professor Wang Xu, Vice President of Guizhou University, emphasized in his opening address that the integration of pattern recognition and AI is reshaping numerous industries. He highlighted the conference’s role as a key platform for international dialogue and cross-sector collaboration.

Zhang Yulan, Deputy Secretary of the College’s CPC Committee, presented the university’s latest achievements in R&D and talent cultivation, expressing hopes for more extensive global cooperation and real-world implementation of scientific research.

The conference featured keynote speeches by Professor Li Di from Tsinghua University, Professor Wei Lifang from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, and Professor Naveed Ahmad from Prince Sultan University in Saudi Arabia.

Over the three-day event, participants will engage in special sessions, oral presentations, and poster displays covering cutting-edge topics including intelligent data analysis, cybersecurity, image processing, medical imaging, speech and signal analysis, NLP, and AI applications in aerospace and autonomous driving.

PRAI 2025 provides a dynamic platform for scholars and practitioners to exchange ideas and explore new directions, injecting fresh momentum into both research and industrial applications of AI.
