Guizhou University Launches 2025 " Ideological and Political Education Practice" and "Three Goes to the Countryside" Social Practice Campaign

On July 14th, Guizhou University commenced its 2025 Ideological and Political Course Practice and"Three Goes to the Countryside" Social Practice Activity (a national campaign urging youth to bring knowledge, technology, and culture to rural areas)with a launching ceremony held in Report Hall 107, Xianzheng Building, West Campus. Secretary of the University Party Committee, Yang Wei and Deputy Secretary Peng Jie were in attendance, along with over 360 participants. These included department heads, college Party officials, practice team instructors, and student representatives. Deputy Secretary Peng Jie presided over the ceremony.

In 2025, Guizhou University's ideological and political education, integrated with "Three Goes to the Countryside" initiatives, emphasized "Youth Shouldering Responsibility for Chinese Modernization" via the " Ideological and Political Course" framework. Prioritizing Xi Jinping Thought, patriotism, cultural heritage, industrial service, and rural revitalization, the university launched "Four Major Cultural Projects" as a distinct social practice component. Comprising over 4,500 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, alongside faculty, 405 teams engaged in grassroots activities encompassing theoretical dissemination, rural education, agricultural assistance, and exemplary figure interviews.

In her address, Yang Wei emphasized the crucial role of social practice in enabling young students to comprehend national conditions, cultivate essential skills, and contribute meaningfully to society. She affirmed its significance as a key strategy for educational institutions to cultivate virtue and advance holistic development. Ms. Yang encouraged students to actively engage in "Three Goes to the Countryside" initiatives, dedicating themselves to national service, embracing challenges to refine their understanding, and translating knowledge into impactful action. She urged them to demonstrate courage and responsibility, grounding their efforts in practicality, observing critically, and refining their abilities in grassroots environments, thereby contributing to Chinese modernization and fulfilling their civic duty.

Peng Jie stressed the imperative for all colleges and supervising faculty to solidify safety protocols, bolster comprehensive safety education and management, and provide robust team support. She urged the diligent guidance of students in immersive investigations of rural conditions and grassroots sentiment, thereby facilitating service to rural construction, fortifying their ideological convictions through practical experience, and cultivating their competencies to contribute meaningfully to rural revitalization efforts.

During the departure ceremony, Yang Wei presented flags to representatives from diverse social practice teams. These included, but were not limited to the Marxism College's "Mobile Ideological and Political Class," the College of Architecture and Urban Planning's Qingshui River Practice Team, the Village-Based Project Team, and the "Four Major Cultural Projects" Practice Team.

Luo Weigang, Director of the Organization Department of the University Party Committee unveiled the university's targeted social practice programs in Zhenfeng and Songtao Counties, dispatching 39 student volunteer teams to promote rural development. Subsequently, Zhang Xiaobin, Director of the Graduate Work Department of the University Party Committee announced the "Four Major Cultural Projects" and the "Doctor Village Chief/Engineer" initiatives, designed to integrate graduate research with local service, thus contributing substantially to Guizhou's new industrialization and rural revitalization.

Speeches were delivered by Chen Guohui of the College of Marxism and Jiang Ruoqi from the 25th Graduate Teaching Corps. Subsequently, project roadshows were presented by the "New Youth" team from the College of Law, the "Cultural Space Linking Villages" team from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, and the Guizhou Drunk Cattle Project team from the College of Zoology.

The departure ceremony began with a solemn rendition of the national anthem and culminated in a spirited performance of the Communist Youth League anthem. Guided by this solemn occasion, the young students of Guizhou University are entrusted with a vital mission. They are expected to dedicate their youth and vigor to social practice, crafting a substantial contribution to the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country, thus shaping a distinguished chapter in contemporary history.
