Guizhou University has launched the 2025 “China Modern Agriculture” International Summer Camp—its first summer school program funded by the Chinese Government Scholarship. Supported by the China Scholarship Council, the program began on June 3 and brings fifteen undergraduates from Thailand’s Rangsit University to Guizhou for an eight-week session featuring lectures, lab work, and field visits. The camp is designed to strengthen agricultural collaboration and create opportunities for mutual learning between Thai and Chinese students.

Vice-President Wang Jinrong extended a warm welcome to the teachers and students from Rangsit University. He highlighted the university’s expertise in agricultural sciences and outlined a curriculum that integrates theory with hands-on experience, including cultural and scenic tours showcasing local ethnic minority traditions. Wang expressed his hope that the summer camp would lay the foundation for long-term cooperation between the two institutions and further support educational collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Nong Wenjing, head of the delegation from the China-Thailand Cooperation Centre of Rangsit University, thanked Guizhou University for its thoughtful arrangements and called for expanded cooperation through joint research projects and academic exchanges.

The College of International Education also provided the visitors with an orientation covering Chinese laws, campus regulations, and everyday safety precautions to help ensure a smooth stay. The summer camp coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and aims to cultivate a new generation of young ambassadors dedicated to a shared future for both countries.
