On 4 June, Guizhou University and ShaoXin Laboratory established a strategic partnership during a signing ceremony held on the university’s West Campus, advancing the province’s “cluster-style” support initiative. Vice-President Wang Xu represented the university, while Deputy Director Bao Wenzhong led the delegation from Shaoxin Laboratory. Also in attendance were Researcher Bian Lifeng from the College of Integrated Circuits and Micro-Nano Electronics at Fudan University, along with senior representatives from Guizhou University’s College of Big Data and Information Engineering, the Publicity Office of the CPC GZU Committee, the Outreach-Cooperation Office, the Science and Technology Institute, and the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Centre for Semiconductor Power Device Reliability.

Wang Xu emphasized the university’s commitment to deepening collaboration and expressed his hope that the new partnership would drive the development of electronics disciplines, support the “strengthening the provincial capital” initiative, and promote high-quality development throughout the province.

Bao Wenzhong described the agreement as a pilot effort to integrate education, research, and talent development. He added that regular joint meetings would help translate laboratory breakthroughs into market-ready technologies and train a new generation of specialists for Guizhou and China’s integrated circuit industry.

During the ceremony, Tian Youliang, Dean of the College of Big Data and Information Engineering, and Bao Wenzhong formally signed the agreement, which reveals that the two institutions will establish a joint postgraduate training base and set up a ShaoXin Laboratory workstation on campus. They were then joined by Chen Yong in unveiling commemorative plaques for both initiatives. To conclude the event, Wang Xu appointed Bao Wenzhong to the technical committee of the Ministry of Education’s Research Centre.
